What’s in Style

SPRING '10

A recent youthful evolution in clothing is being advanced through styling and an innovative new make this spring. When considering this season’s wardrobe, seek out understated versions of soft plaids, stripes and herringbones with accents of lavender, mocha and soft pink from a range of Europe's finest mills—prestigious names such as Ermenegildo Zegna, Barberis, Reda and Loro Piana, feature prominently in the Spring Collection.

  • Soft, Natural Color

    Ecru, dove grey, tan and indigo blue feature prominently in all pieces this season.
  • Sophisticated and Luxurious

    The fabric offering for Spring 2010 presents characteristics that raise the bar on look and feel. Pure cottons and performance blends of cotton with linen and silk are prominent. Both silk-linen and wool-silk fabrics are featured in essential Spring 2010 sport coats.
  • Spring Suits and Sports Coats

    Seek out summer-weight super 120s wool as well as youthful pure cottons. Selected fine blends and nontraditional fabrics for suits and sport coats are a smart fashion choice for men in the know. Pure silk can be found on its own in sports jackets, or woven with cashmere and linen. Wool blends with linen and lycra, and with silk, offer a summer attitude to those looking for stylish attire.

At Michael Duru, we’re single-minded about creating distinctive clothing that makes a personal statement...about you. Whether your taste is classic or fashion-forward, we’ll deliver styling, fabrics and fit that will exceed your expectations.

  • Working Stiffs

    Magnetic collar stays. Must have for any man who likes to wear his sport shirts with a open top button. Priced at $35 (for 3 sets)

Spring Closet Organization

The 80/20 Rule is alive and well in most people’s closets. Most of us wear 20% of our clothes 80% of the time. Further , we have found that people buy the same things over and over again.

It’s perfectly fine to lock into our fashion favorites and keep those items well stocked in ones wardrobe. After all some things work well most of the time. Here is a suggestion;

Start out with all the hangers hung in your closet in the reverse direction. What we want to do is test the 80/20 rule in your closet. For the next 4 months when ever you wear an article of clothing and hang it back in the closet, hang it the correct way. After 4 months, if you have items that are still hanging backwards in your closet ask yourself,” Am I ever going to wear it again?” If you haven’t worn an item in the last 6 to 12 months, the likelihood is that you never will.

If it can be altered or repaired, lets get it done for you. If not, We could help donate it for you or replace it with more functional pieces in your working wardrobe. If you need our help organizing your closet, Its always FREE OF CHARGE, just call us to schedule a in home consultation.
